“A Biographical History of Lancaster Co. Being a History of Early Settlers and Eminent Men of the County” by Alex. Harris, 1827 Lancaster, Pa.: Elias Barr & Co., 1872 Pg. 144, CORNELIUS COLLINS, one of the early settlers of Colerain Twp., emigrated from Ireland, and took up land in both Colerain and Drumore townships. He was a farmer and a member of the Associate Reformed Church. Pg. 144, CORNELIUS COLLINS, son of JAMES COLLINS, was born July 14, 1795. He has always been engaged in the avocation of his forefathers, that of agriculture. He was a Director of the Poor during the years 1831, 1832 and 1833. He has been an elder and trustee of the Middle Octoraro Church for upwards of 45 years. He was elected to the Legislature in 1836, and re-elected in 1837 as a member of the old Whig party. Pg. 144, JAMES COLLINS, son of CORNELIUS COLLINS, was born in Colerain Twp., and was for a time a private in the American army during the Revolution. He was an elder of the Associate Reformed Church at Octoraro. Pg. 144, ORESTES COLLINS, appointed President Judge of the several courts of Lancaster Co., in 1836. Pg. 144, THOMAS C. COLLINS, also son of JAMES COLLINS, is a farmer. He was elected County Auditor, and was, in 1863, elected one of the Commissioners of Lancaster Co. Notify Administrator about this message?
