Thank you for your response. I discovered my mistake yesterday. Felisha (Tallisha) Collins was indeed the daughter of Richard (1725-1784). I have seen some evidence that his father was Thomas (b.1707 - Isle of Wight Co.) but I've haven't found proof on Thomas as yet. Felisha (Tallisha) Collins was my 3x greatgrandmother. Her mother was Mary Madison, Richard's second wife. Felisha married John Hankins. I've gotten most of my information through the Hankins line which is well documented. Collins information is difficult to find. I've used State Library of Va., DAR and Charlotte Co. records as well as Ancestry.com and other websites.
Apparently your wife's ancestor and mine were siblings.
I found records that Richard served in the colonial militia in Lord Dunmore's War. I'll be happy to share what I find and hope you'll do the same.
