Lewis (b. 1758, NC) would be son of the Andrew Collins who died about 1790 in Wake County, NC.

The children of this Andrew Collins include:

       Lewis
       Riddick
       Charlotte
       Matilda
       Cader
       Branch
       Merrill
       Creed (b. 1777, Wake Co., NC)
       Mathew

===============

Lewis, William and Creed are found page 138a in the 1820 census for Georgia, Washington County. Lewis (born before 1775) is next door to William (born between 1775 and 1794). (I believe this is William Henry Collins.) About four households away is Creed Collins (born
between 1775 and 1794).

Creed Collins and family after 1820 moved to Dale County, ALA. Then about 1845, the Creed Collins family gathered together in a party of about 40 wagons and moved to Newton, Texas. In the 1850 census they are found in Jasper County, Texas.

=========
There is an Elisha Collins in the 1818 Tax Digest for Twiggs County, GA, but he only paid a poll tax (indicating he did not own land).

==========
As you know by the 1830 Census, Lewis has moved to Dooly County.

===========

It's of interest that you list William Henry as the father of Dawson (Doss) Collins. I had thought so, but all I had to go by was the 1850 census.

Do you know anything about Joseph W. Collins (age 16) in the household of Mary Gleaton(Gliaton?) in the 1850 census. What became of him? (I'm trying to track back a Joseph Collins who turns up in Decatur County (now Grady) in 1880, and then in 1900 turns up in Thomas County (now Grady) living in the same area as Dawson -- but Joseph has now changed his name to Christopher!!! (My great-great grandfather referred to Joseph Christopher (b. ca. 1834) as a cousin.)

=========

I am not related to this family (that I know of yet), though I was born and grew up in Grady County.
