Need Help! John Collins (1813) married Martha Smith (1818) on August 22, 1845 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Their children were: John A. (1848); John S. ( 1851); Frank N. (1852); Thomas W. (1853); William A. (1855); Charles (1856). Adopted daughter, Sarah O’boren? (sic) (1864).
Both families are listed coming from Ireland before 1845. I researched and the Collins name and it might not be Irish but Scottish. I was told they came from County Cork. However, there may have been some migration from Scotland to Ireland during the
1700/1800’s.
Where can I begin researching records in Ireland?
