I have looked at the thread stemming from you original message and suspect that there is still some doubt.
I am married to a descendant of one Obadiah Collings and have a copy of the 1841 census for his, then, family.
Unfortunately, the UK census of 1841 has limited detail, but the names and ages correspond well with the information that you have posted. The details are as follows -
1841 Census for Great Oakley, Essex
William Collings Age 46 NOT born in Essex
Susan Collings Age 46 NOT born in Essex
William Collings Age 12 born in Essex
Obadiah Collings Age 8 born in Essex
Ebenezer Collings Age 5 born in Essex
Rose Collings Age 74 NOT born in Essex
Combined with the information in your post, I suspect that the William Collings in this census extract is the son of John Rivers Collings Snr and the brother of John Rivers Collings Jnr., as mentioned in your post.
Furthermore, this also ties in with the presence of Rose Collings in this extract, who is possibly the widowed mother of William Collings Snr., who died prior to the census, in 1840.
Finally, in a later message, you make reference to a William Collings snr marrying Susan (Banks), which also corresponds with the above extract.
