As you suspect MANY Collins families migrated to Alabama about that time mostly from SC and GA, though they probably had NC roots before that. My Collins were mostly concentrated in Greene, Pickens, and Tuscaloosa Counties in the 1820's and 1830's. Some of those moved on to Mississippi and Lousiana about 1836.
