I am tracing the McDonald line and would like to obtain info on the James McDonald family. According to the Alabama Marriage record index, James A. McDonald and Fadora Cloud were married on July 18, 1858 in Shelby County. (NOTE- I have seen other info that mentions James having the middle name of Robert). It looks like they are shown in the 1860 Shelby Co. census as the James McDaniel family. Fadora is shown in this census only as "F". I believe James was killed in the Civil War because I find Fadora married in the 1870 Shelby census to William G. Falkner and she has two sons by James named Robert (age 11) and W.B. (age 9). James was not found in the 1870 census. Fadora evidently was William Falkner's 2nd wife as his 1st wife was Nancy per earlier census.
I would really appreciate any help on this James McDonald family and/or Fadora's parents that you can give me.
