Alan

My John LACKEY at that time frame is living Rock Island Barracks Ill as POW from Miss Ridge. I thought it strange a private being paid in Confederate Citizen file unless claiming for his family.

James HARGROVES, John LACKEY, Robert Thomas BRIDGES my other Grandpas were Army of Tn Vets. Poor guys never had many bragging rights after the war as all POWs From Vicksburg. Miss Ridge and Shiloh. Bad luck, bad Generals, bad weather and bad terrain hindered Army of Tn. Army of Tn never received full credit as outlasting Gen Lee, ANV.

On the other hand my Grandpas 9th Al and 58th Va Army of Northern Va severed with Lee, Jackson, Early, Longstreet, one wounded at Sharpburg, Dunker's Church, one wounded Bethel Church.

One other Grandpa was a Yank in a Ky unit.
