I do see several LDS/IGI records for this family online, which you are probably quoting - with data for four of their sons & families, too, but none of these IGI records that identify Elizabeth's parents nor where in Norfolk she came from. She doesn't appear, with the birth date listed for her, in the IGI. She may be difficult to trace, since Elizabeth is such a common name. You haven't said whether you've searched all available records in Ontario, or not (including immigration & ship records), but since you do know her actual birth date, 28 Feb 1812, in Norfolk, and death date & place, 26 Feb 1901, Perth, Ontario, a search should be relatively easy to perform - in particular looking for her official death record, obituary, burial record, biographical accounts, and so forth. Ditto for her husband, Benjamin Maddess. Another technique is to search census & other records in the areas where they were known to have lived in Ontario [e.g. son William was born at Millbrook, Caven Twp., Durham, Ontario per IGI Record, 19 Sep 1844] to see what other Chamberlain or Maddess families reside nearby who might be related. You do know that their oldest son, Samuel Maddess, was born 13 Sep 1833, Norfolk, England (per an IGI record), and you said they came to Canada about 1840. When I searched (using my Ancestry.com subscription) the 1841 England census for any Maddess families in Norfolk, I found none with this surname spelling, but there are others in various locations in Norfolk with the spelling of Maddass, Maddeys, Maddies, Maddis, Maddiss, Maddix & Maddock which you can begin to study. So, when trying to trace your Maddess ancestry, you will have to deal with this problem of spelling, too. One presumes that Benjamin & Elizabeth were married somewhere in Norfolk, perhaps about 1832, but if so, the IGI doesn't list their marriage, unless it is undersome other obscure spelling - I urge you to keep trying to search the IGI records for more evidences of either family. If this were my own family, after exhausting all available leads myself, I'd gather together all my data, and consult a professional genealogist for assistance and advice. Obviously, the key to solving the problem is to figure where in Norfolk these families originally resided.
