Your are correct that William Chamberlain [ancestry as yet untraced] and Mary Rand were married, 27 Nov 1729, in Rye, Rockingham C., New Hampshire, with a hiatus between then and 1737 when five of their six known children were born there through 1749 - their last son was born in nearby Scarborough. The leading Chamberlain genealogists of this generation and the last, Mr. David Conrad Chamberlin, Sr., and Mr. Prentiss Glazier, both of whose records I use here, provide no answers to this problem, other than to suggest there were perhaps other children.
With regard to your other posting, concerning the surname spellings of Chamberlain and Chamberlin, you are advised to ignore these differences - it was very common in various records in earlier years for the same person to use them both.
