Having read all the emails regarding the 'Challinors' I thought I would tell you of my connection to the 'Challinor Clan'.

My father was William John Challinor born in Chester in 1896.
My g father was William John Challinor born 28 June 1869 at Chetwode Street, Monks Coppenhall, which is now part of Crewe.
My g-g-father was John Challinor m to Mary formerly Thomas.
At this point I do not know much about my
g-g-father.
My g-father m Jane Griffiths
He had one sister Mary (known as Ciss) who m Fred Massey of Helsby.
Also had two brothers - Thomas (bachelor) and Henry who had four sons:
Ted - Richard and twins Eric and Leslie.
At a guess, Mary, Thomas and Henry born between 1860 and 1870.
My father was one of ten children -
Harriet Ellen - William John (Father) Thomas Henry - Mary - Henry Thomas - Jack - Elizabeth Jane - Ellis - Barbara - Joseph.
Henry Thomas Challinor is the 'Harry Challinor' mentioned in previous emails who died January 1996 in Knutsford.
From searching on the web I have also found
William Kelsall m Harriett Challinor in 1864 in Stoke-Upon-Trent. The had the following children: Ann Elizabeth - William - Catherine - Richard - Ellen - Gertrude - Samuel - Emma.
I am sure somebody will be able to tell me more about the 'Challinors'.
