1709 (year of death) Timothy Wyman of Woburn, Mass., (place of death), son of 1699 Francis Wyman of Woburn and his wife 1699 Abigail Read of Woburn, married Hannah. The Wyman Family website lists her surname as “Wiswall” without stating a source. The earlier Wyman genealogies by C. E. Wyman (1883) and Asa Wyman (1941) do not give her surname, and a genealogy of 1693 Thomas Wiswall of Newton, Mass., (Anson Titus, 1886) does not show that Hannah, daughter of 1706 Enoch Wiswall of Dorchester, Mass., married anyone. To date, I have not located a copy/extract of the will of 1706 Enoch Wiswall, and a partial review of Suffolk deeds shows many transactions involving Enoch, but none that establish a link with anyone I recognize as connected to the Wyman line. Even though Enoch Wiswall received his father’s property in Dorchester, and lived his life there, the rest of his family moved to Newton, which is near Woburn, so it is certainly possible that Timothy Wyman’s wife was Hannah Wiswall. Does anyone know of sources to support or refute the association? |
