Antonio Terry came to Peru in 1765. He came from Finale, which used to belong to Spain, and later to Genova, before the Reign of Italy was stablished. The family move to Finale for two generations from Cadiz, Spain, where they remain also up today. In Spain there are two other Terry branches belonging to the same tree. One in Madrid and the other one in Sevilla. Originally Terry was a Normad who accompanied William de Conqueror. He stblished in Erie (Ireland) and the family moved to Spain becose they were persecuted by being Roman Catholics. In America there were several Terry that became Preseident. In Peru Fernando Belaunde Terry (Terry is the mother name which we always use en Latin america) was twice President of Pery (1963-1968 and 1980-1985). Dorticos Terry was President of Cuba. |
