Hi, I'm doing some research on an Indian tribe during the fur trade era. The name George C. Sibley has come up in my research and I'm having trouble finding out a detail. If my understanding is right, Dr. John Sibley was a Master of Phoenix Masonic Lodge in NC. A number of the people working with the Indian tribes in the 1820-1850 time frame were Masons. George C. Sibley was in contact with the tribe I'm researching and I need to know if he was a Mason and if so which lodge did he belong to? I'm hoping someone might be willing to help me. I'd be glad to share info. Many Thanks, Karren A. |
