Looking for ancestors of and info on Frederick Shafer, most likely a cattle farmer around Weisenhesse bei Sontra, Hessen, Germany, who married Wilhelmina Ulrich circa 1770-80. They are my great, great grandparents. Back at that time, there were revolutions and retaliations & people fled with little or no documentation of family history, so I realize it is hard to find earlier history. The Shafer's had 5 or 6 children: Dorothea [??], Nicholas, Catherine Meister, Jacob Conrad, Christine, and Anna Zabina. It is known that at least 3 of these children immigrated to the U.S. and married. Any responses will be appreciated.
