I always see the typos AFTER I post. Walter lived in Omaha, NE. I finally found the MOORE family, 1910, Butler Co., OH MOORE, Lilly M., 47; Margaret S., 15; Wendell A., 13; also in household, Isabella SELBY, 84. DAR accepted Mordecai SELBY (1720+ - 1781) as son of Samuel SELBY of Prince George's & Anne Arundel Cos., MD. However, I have been unable to find proof. Mordecai SELBY made his will 23 Oct. 1779, Anne Arundel Co., MD. He gave to son Nicholas, 75 acres where Nicholas then lived, from a bounded tree of Break Neck Hill to Croney's (Crow's Nest) Bottom. He also gave to son John, the plantation where John lived, part of Rochester. The remainder of his land went to his minor sons Mordecai, Obediah, Eli, & Wm. How(e) SELBY. Daughters Hannah & Honor were to receive cash at age 16 or marriage. Although Mordecai was called a minor, he was named as coexecutor with his mother Hannah. Witnesses Joseph HOBBS, Sr., James BARNES of N., & James BEASING. Will pr. 15 June 1781, Anne Arundel Co., MD. At the time Rochester, 4706 acres, was in Baltimore, now in Carroll Co. Break Neck Hill was in Anne Arundel but is now in Howard Co. |
