John O., 42; Louisa, 43; William B., 24; Benjamin, 20; John W., 18; George W., 15; Mary E., 13; & Thomas, 10. Illinois Marriage database, Shelby County, SELBY: William B., 1 May 1862, Susan M. BUGH. Is that your William? Do you know where he went from Shelby Co., IL? William Atkinson SELBY (bpt. 25 May 1757, Coventry Parish, Worcester/Somerset Co., MD - 2 Aug. 1809) & Sarah White TOWNSEND, dau/o Barkley TOWNSEND, had son Barkley Townsend SELBY (21 Nov. 1784, Worcester Co., MD - 14 May 1874, Shelby Co., IL) m1. 17 Aug. 1807, Bourbon Co., KY, Elizabeth DRUMMOND / DRUMMANS (12 Dec. 1785 - 15 July 1816); m2. 26 Dec. 1816, Patsy COTTINGHAM (25 Aug. 1799 - 14 Aug. 1833); m3. 4 Nov. 1839, Shelby Co., IL, Sarah S. COTTINGHAM (19 Nov. 1803 - 11 Feb. 1846). Children of first marriage of Barclay T. SELBY: Naomi M. SELBY, b. 7 Je. 1808 William A., b. 19 Feb. 1810 James M. HEADEN (9 Feb. 1837 - 5 May 1908), who m1. Amelia FREDERICK. Tryphena had Bible & DAR records, per Donna Valley RUSSELL's Selby Families of Colonial America. *Mary E. M. is listed as marrying MOYERS. However, the Illinois database shows Mary S. SELBY m. 28 Nov. 1860, Samuel MOYER, and Mary E. A. SELBY m. 24 Jan. 1865, Joseph SCOTT. This is not my SELBY line. Mine is from western Maryland, first proven SELBY ancestor = Mordecai, b. ca. 1720+. The Eastern Shore line goes much further back. Do you have more clues about John O. & his son Wm.?
