A cousin of mine did research on my Richardson several years ago and distributed books to family members with the following information in it. "Amos Richardson was a private in a NC unit durng the Revolutionary War. Came to Georgia from Carolina. Was married to Suzanna Smith. Records from Dordon Brown show the following children by this marriage. Amos Richardson, born September 8, 1764, died September 15, 1847, married Suzanna Smith in 1790. William Richardson, December 26, 1791-November 11, 1794 Margaret Richardson, December 20, 1794-November 30, 1853 James Richardson, July 6, 1797-January 1801 Robert Richardson, December 29, 1799-February 2, 1841. Amos Richardson married Nancy Braig (died November 29, 1853) Children: Thomas Richardson, b. January 6, 1802 Elizabeth Richardson, b. August 4, 1804 Mary Richardson, b. November 2, 1806 Samuel Richardson, b. February 17, 1809 Nancy Richardson, b. April 13, 1811 Jane Richardson, b. December 24, 1813 James C. Richardson, October 15, 1816-October 28, 1819" I have since discovered that the Amos mentioned above did not have this family. His family is well documented in Hart County, Georgia. This cousin passed away several years ago and I have dug it from my files. The exact dates seem to point to a bible record of some sort, but I have not been able to acquire it. My cousin left no records as to where she got this information, with the exception of the "Dordon Brown" mentioned above. I don't know who this is, but if anyone knows of him or the record(s) the information was taken from, please contact me. I am supposedly descended from the Robert Richardson born in 1799, but I have doubts about the lineage as well. I am descended from Robert Richardson (1825-1903) buried in Douglas, Alabama, who was married to Millie Ann Bobo. He was mentioned in the same record as being a son of the Robert born in 1799. Any help with this confusion will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Shawn P. Sweeney |
