If this is the Preston I think it might be ... I have wondered about him . He is one of 14 or 15 children raised by John and Nancy Hylton in Floyd Co. VA. He and his brothers joined the 54th VA. 1861/ 1862... Records are not clear , but I think he gave up and took the oath after Lee surrendered.. Was sent north of the Ohio River.. The problem to me is , that I can never find him returning to Floyd Co. , VA.. I have info on all the family back to George Quesenberry the 1st settler .. but you may have helped me with Preston...I'll share what I have on the forum
