Hello Marsha!
Thank you so much for your response to my message. It answered a lot of questions. I noticed in your posting history that your Perry's were from Erie Co., NY.
My Hopkins were from Erie Co., NY. I know families some times travelled together so I'll give you a little background and see if there are any connections.

I've been looking for the parents of my William Henry Hopkins for years. He was born Feb 13, 1838 Springville, Erie Co., NY. His father was born NY State and his mother Holland. I now have my closest lead ever.
William F. Hopkins born 1811 Greenburgh, Westchester Co., NY a Quaker who married 27Jan 1835 Ann Dutcher from Holland in the Dutch Reformed Church of Tarrytown, Westchester Co., NY. I'm still searching for their children's names.

From his obit. we know that Wm Henry Hopkins is in Iowa in 1860 but can't find him in Census. He enlists for Civil War in 1861 from Spragueville, Jackson Co., IA.

He marries Kate Moore 28Dec1864 in Andrew, Jackson Co., IA
Katherine Moore 1845-1924 is the d/o George & Adelia Moore of Schenectady, NY
5 kids: William B. Hopkins m. Katie unknown May 1900
Fanny L. m. Nero M. Perry Dec 1885
Hattie Louise m. Jay L. Haddox Jan 1886
Adelia m. Wm H. Sharp 1890
Lillie m. Timothy Shea 1893

Wm Henry Hopkins dies Sep 10, 1911. He & wife Kate buried Odebolt Cemetery, Odebolt, Sac Co., Iowa.

I'm descended from Hattie Louise Hopkins Haddox. We think the L. in Jay L. Haddox is Linville but not sure.

Well, It's a long shot our ancestor's paths crossed. Thanks again for your help. Know it is greatly appreciated! Lee
