Thank you for your response. I reread the passages in Anne Bradbury Peebles, "Peebles Ante," and it does seem clear that Judith's name was indeed Drayton, although her relationship to John Drayton cannot be assumed as daughter; he was her legal guardian and could have been an uncle or other older male relative.

Judith, as it happens, is not my ancestor. I am descended from William Peebles' son David Peebles who was a child of William's middle marriage to an unknown wife, but speculated by Anne Bradbury Peebles to have been a Dudley or a Hubbard. This idea holds up so far as I know; Dudley and Hubbard are not names I have seen in the Henshaw-Gilliam-Maybury line of Elizabeth (Gilliam) West Beavin (Bevan?) who married Francis Maybury, Sr., father of Elizabeth Maybury who married David Peebles, son of William and his second (unknown) wife, so these names, Dudley and Hubbard, must come from William's unknown wife as Anne Peebles believed.

I believe Anne Peebles' work is reliable where she did her own research, but contains errors where she was dependent on other people to send information to her. This was the case relative to my own line. It is very incomplete, and has errors, but she got that data from a cousin of mine back about 1930, so those errors were his, not Anne's. (I refer to data on the Abram H. J. Peebles family of Henry County, GA.)
