Die Welt is aber klein. I have many fond memories of Mannheim. I spent 7 years in and around Ludwigshafen, although I'm back in the UK now. I'm fairly new myself to family history and have run into a number of brick walls myself. The Draytons in our family are from the Somerset/Devon area in South West England, although there are other lines from elsewhere in the country. If your family came to Germany via America, the first place to look is with any surviving Grandparents, they may know where in England the family came from. Ben. PS Next time you cross the river say "Hi" to Ludwigshafen for me. It may pong a bit, specially round Hemshof, but it was home for a while.
