Hi Maxine, Sadly I don't think this is the same Samuel. My info' is detailed below but I would be interested to know more about William and Mary for example where they lived as there might be a connection somewhere... John =========================================================== On 9th April 1905 at Holy Trinty Church, Northwood, Hanley, Samuel CHALLINOR married Elizabeth WASE. At that time both had been married previously as he is registered as a widower on their marriage certificate and she married under her previous married name of Elizabeth WASE, daughter of Richard TUNSTALL. Samuel, then aged 34, is described as a “tilemaker”, the same occupation as given on Frederick's (my grand-father) birth certificate. Samuel's father was also a “Samuel Challinor” - a “potter's modeller”, by then deceased. Elizabeth was 31 at the time of their marriage; her father, also deceased, had been a “stone miner”. At the time of the marriage, the couple were both living at 25, Leonard Road, Northwood. |
