Hello all There doesn't appear to have been much action on this site for some time--- Have you all found your relatives or given up? I am looking for information on the above named. Does anyone have the above named as a relative? I have been researching my own R R Challinor and the family story is that he was a "regular" soldier before the 1914-18 war. I can't find him on the 1901 census and in 1908 when he got married he was a labourer. In WW1 he went over to France on 12.8.1914 even though he was 32 years old. He was in the Royal Welch Fusiliers then. I have just come across this chap who was in the 2nd Anglo-Boer War but in the Lancashire Fusiliers. Actually says Captain Challenor R.R. 28th M.I. Does it ring any bells with anyone? |
