Hello Barbara You may already have this information by now, but I was curious, having connections with both Botts and Challinors myself. The entry you seek is as follows: Marriage by Banns at St. Peter ad Vincula, Stoke Entry number 95 29 December 1873 Charles CHALLINOR, 24, Bachelor, Labourer, Thomas Street*, father: Charles CHALLINOR, ?Druggist Deceased. Ann BOTT, 26, Widow, undefined occupation, London Road, father: Charles FINNEY, Shoe Maker. Both signed their own name. Witnesses were: John AULT his 'X' mark and Alice AULT. *Thomas Street later became Aquinas Street. Ann FINNEY would appear to have been married first to John BOTT in 1869. John BOTT may be a very distant relative of mine - but not Charles CHALLINOR. I hope this proves to be useful to you. Greetings Stephen Bott (Stoke on Trent) |
