Hi Clare i too am researching challinors (challender) they have started in saughall, chester and some on the wirral, there are a few COATHUP/CHALLINOR connections i have Sarah Emma CHALLINOR married William COATHUP Sept 1/4 1881 Liverpool William and Sarah COATHUP with baptism of Elizabeth 1862 and practically lived next door to the Challinors on the 1871 census in Saughall My Grandparents Peter CHALONER and Jane FOSTERs marriage at St Peters church in Liverpool Dec 1878 was witnessed by Thomas and Mary COATHUP i've no idea why they married in liverpool as yet maybe you will have a missing link ? you can E-Mail me directly if you wish, good hunting-Janet
