Trying to trace the people mentioned in an article in the Chicago Tribune 6/5/1886 about William Cason and Jennie Williams of Powell Co., Ky., who married on 10/31/1861. The story says she was lost in a steamboat accident in 1865 so in March 1866 he was married again, to Belle Mason, and had four children, including George, who went to Washington & Lee University. But when he died in 1886, a lady claiming to be the first wife showed up, saying she had survived the wreck and for unexplained reasons had never come home. Can't find any mention of these people -- does anyone have any info? |
