Elizabeth Cason married John Elzy abt. 1 Dec 1825, Staunton, Augusta Co., VA. The marriage bond was signed by John Elzy and William Cason. As far as I can tell, there is no evidence that William was Elizabeth's father. He could have been a brother or an uncle. The only Cason I have found on the 1810 census in Augusta Co. was Andrew Cason. He had several "daughters" who might have been Elizabeth. Andrew was not on the 1820 census in Augusta Co. A William Cason, age 45+, was on the 1820 census in Augusta Co. He too had "daughters" of Elizabeth's approximate age. John and Elizabeth Cason Elzey move to Ohio after the 1830 census and were on the 1840 census in Pike Co., Ohio. Does anyone know the parents of this couple? Janice McAlpine |
