I found a marriage certificate you might want to see. It is found on Georgia Virtual Vault. This is a free site. Here is the link if you need it or just type Georgia Virtual Vault in the google search engine. http://content.sos.state.ga.us/

To find the certificate you can click on: "Marriage Records from Microfilm" on the left hand side of the page about half way down the list. Then scroll to the bottom of the page. Under County choose "Lincoln". Click on "Lincoln County Marriage Book, 1806 - 1829", it's the 1st choice. Click on "page 62" in the column on the left side. It is the 1st certificate, handwritten page 135.

Below is the marriage certificate as I understand it:

I do Hereby Certify that I did join In the Holy State of Matrimony John Swords & Miss Nancy Cason on the 22 Of July 1814
Wm Harper 6,6,0

Recorded this 14th day of Octr 1814
Wm Harper 6,6,0

The N is what caught my attention to begin with. Then with the other letters it looks like Nancy. I did find more names that start with an N written the same way. I don't know if I'm right or not, just thought it was interesting.
