I was curious about the name "Patsy" Cason so I looked it up to find what it might be a nickname for. This is what I found: From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Historical usage In older usage Patsy was also a nickname for Martha or Matilda, following a common nicknaming pattern of changing an M to a P (such as in Margaret ? Meg/Meggy ? Peg/Peggy; and Molly ? Polly) and adding a feminine suffix.[1][2] I'm still looking for Benjamin Cason (abt. 1788). Father of the John Cason that married Elizabeth Bagby in Newton Co., GA in 1842. I'm looking at the possibility of Triplett (1766) being the father of Benjamin & noticed that in your family tree on rootsweb.com you may be thinking the same. I have not made a definite link. I've just followed the families on Census, Marriage records, ect. and found them living by or close to each other. My line is: Benjamin (3rd ggrandfather, then John (2nd ggf), Pinkney Benjamin (ggf) married Nancy Elizabeth Davenport, Samuel Bob (gf), and Carl, my father. All info would be greatly appreciated.
