Thomas Traill was born in 1612 in Scotland and he later married Helen Carse. Thomas Traill had an older brother named James Traill who was an officer in Cromwells army and for his efforts there received land in County Down by Killyleah. There James Traill married Mary Hamilton niece of James Hamilton of Killyleah.
