Looking for any Scottish relatives of James Carse, who walked down from Scotland to the Cambridge area looking for work. He was a sailor and is shown in the 1851 Census in the village of Trumpington (on the outskirts of Cambridge). Occupation given as "mate, shipboard". Do not know where in Scotland he originates from.

My grandmother was Edith Minnie Carse; she had two sisters Rose and Emily and four brothers - Alfred and Albert (two perished in WWI).

Would be good to hear from anyone researching Carse families who have a similar family legend. Thanks!
