The information you list is essentially what I have. I can expand on the family of Richard H. Carlisle a little more for you. Richard was born 13 Sep 1838 and died 9 Dec 1910 at Conklin, Ottawa County, Michigan. He served during the Civil War as a Private, Company I Regiment 9th NY Cavalry. He married Catherine "Kate" Haskell on 1 October 1865 in Pierrepont, St. Lawrence County, NY. She was a daughter of William Haskell, from Scotland, and his unknown wife. Kate was born in Quebec, Canada. Their children were: 1. Winifred Adelaide Carlisle, born 19 May 1868 in Osceola, Lewis County, NY, died 10 Jan 1934 in Wright Township, Ottawa County, Michigan. She married Frank Barnes Squier (not "Squire") on 2 October 1888. 2. Ada L. Carlisle, born August 1870 in Michigan, died Feb 1937 in Ottawa County, Michigan. She married Merrill D. Boody in 1900 in Ottawa County. 3. Algirnza Benson "Gurnie" Carlisle, born 23 September 1873, died 11 April 1923 in Ottawa County, Michigan. There is no evidence that Gurnie ever married. Some years ago I visited with one of Winnie's grandsons, Rex Brittain, who lived in Wright, Michigan. He passed away shortly after my visit and I have lost contact with his family. I notice that you list Kate's middle name as "Annette." I know that in the 1870 census of Osceola she is listed as "Annettie," but no one in our family ever called her by that name. (She was my great-grandfather's sister.) It is a puzzle. Allen Carlisle married Elsie Cunningham on 4 September 1867. She was a daughter of James and Catherine Cunningham. Hope this helps. Good luck with your project. Nancy Shire Notify Administrator about this message?
