I have John William Carlile married to Lydia Ann Gregg
and I have La Vonia Carlisle married to Hiram John Gregg. Lydia and Hiram were brother and sister.

Hiram and La Vonia Carlisle Gregg were my great grandparents. They came to Texas after the Civil War and settled in Montgomery County. They had 14 children with 9 living to adulthood.

John William Carlile is believed to be the son of James and Elizabeth Carlisle. It is said that John William was the only one that changed the spelling of the name. John William married #1 Mary Ann (unknown) and had at least 5 children. Most of his children used the CARLILE spelling however it was said that when son James William "Willie" Carlisle married Lena Mae Miller she said it was improper to spell Carlisle without the "S" so they used the CARLISLE spelling.

John William Carlile and Lydia Ann Gregg had 2 chidren.

Would like to exchange.........

Betty in Texas
