I am doing research on the family of Matthew Carey who was a famous author, bookseller, and publisher in Philadelphia. He immigrated from Dublin, Ireland with his brother William Paulet Carey in 1784, after they were involved in revolutionary activities. He ran a printing operation for Benjamin Franklin, and later authored many books on capitalism, among other topics.
Matthew Carey married in Philadelphia in 1791 (I do not know his wife's name) and he and his wife had 9 children.
The children I have are:
Henry Charles Carey (Famous economist and publisher)
Edward Carey (Briefly involved in family business)
Frances Anne Carrey Lea (M. Isaac Lea of Wilmington, DE)
Charles Carey (Died as a young boy)
Eliza Catherine Carey Baird (M. Thomas James Baird)
I am still looking for the other 4 children's names and if any of them moved to Sussex County Delaware.
