Callison Family Genealogy Forum

Jason, a few years ago, I did some research to try to answer this same question. As far as I can tell, in this country, these are two different families BUT they may have originally been one and the same. One of the confusing things is that in late early 1800 time period, some Callison records are found as Kellison in Virginia and Kentucky. The earliest Virginia people are James CALLISON about 1742 and Daniel KELLISON who MAY have come from the Pennsylvania Kellison's. The two families in Greenbrier/Bath Virigina were closely connected with living by each other and children marrying each other. I was able to determine that the Kellison's who went to Pike County, Ohio, were from this Greenbrier/Bath County family. The Callison family followed this path also. If you find out that they are one and the same, please let me know.
