I just posted a message about this Babb line and went back to the main page and found your message! What a great coincidence! <G> I strongly believe from the research that I've done on this line that Joseph and Jacob are indeed the same. I can't explain the name differences on the census records but all other information appears to be a match. I've been following the line through Jacob M.'s brother George W. Babb. I'm looking for a possible connection to my husband's Babb line and also doing it for a descendant of George. Glad to find someone else researching this line. Hope we can share. I'm stuck on Joseph / Jacob's presumed father David. :-(
